Illustration and styling...

All my coursework is handed in for my first semester!!! So with no new design brief set, I've got two lazy weeks off, so with my spare time I've done a couple fashion designs/illustrations.....

Fifties project.....

Inspired by the flirty fifties,I created an outfit which reflected, the break through for womens fashion. Clothes weren't just practical anymore, clothes became, fashionable, fun and experimental. I created a figure hugging pencil skirt, with ruffle detail to emphaise the feminine, soft sillohette, and emarld green sheer shirt, with bow,tye detail for a super feminine, fun look...
(ruffles not completed yet on left side.)
Colour palette: pastel shades, pinks and purples; candy like, fun and feminine.

 Fabrics; chiffon-shirt,ruffles.fine faux silk lining.Cotton mix-pencil skirt.
Glamourous, Feminine, Luxourious, Fun, Flirty,Fifties...
(starting point, sketchbook:my photos and sketches with supporting and inspiring magazine pullouts from ELLE.)

Experimenting with different colour ways and design ideas.

Menswear project...

I really enjoyed this project, as its the first time I'd really researched mens fashion, it was a great oppurtunity to explore more masculin styling and design.
For this project I had to design and make a mens coat/jacket, with a particular man in mind. My project, is aimed at a guy who loves all things music, festivals and gigs etc.
I was inspired by my photographs I had taken of graffiti and rural scenery, which inspired the indie, urban and rugged theme throughout the project.

Below is the final outcome, styled to suit indie theme.Location for shoot; basement and carpark, suits the urban theme of the project.....
